What the duty requires
The existing duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment becomes a duty to take all reasonable steps. Acas guidance focuses on prevention across the whole organisation, online and in person: a clear policy, more than one way to report, suitable training and prevention measures.
Separately, employers become liable where a third party harasses an employee in the course of their work and the employer did not take all reasonable steps to prevent it.
